Job Summary / Mission

Responsible for the maintenance of assigned general ledger accounts and accountable for the timely preparation of monthly journal entries and the reconciliation of the accounts and related schedules.

Key Duties and Responsbilities / Activités clés et responsabilités

Coordinate accounting procedures including month-end procedures and timetables for the month-end and year-end closing for assigned functional area.

Prepare month-end financial statements and analysis of expenditures for assigned functional area.

Provide assistance in resolving queries and preparation of cost centre reports.

Ensure that general ledger accounts are properly maintained, reconciled and discrepancies are promptly addressed.

Identify control issues such as undefined balances, un-posted entries, balance sheet imbalances, etc. and raising queries for resolution of these issues.

Monitor the status of budget spending/ activity and review financial reports.

Ensure compliance with Dangote Cement’s finance/accounting policies and procedures.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the unit Head, Financial Accounting & Reporting.

Train, motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.

Contribute to the overall performance of the service by executing its target objectives.

Conduct its performance evaluation

Attend training to build skills

Perform any other duties as assigned by financial controller (A&R).

Former, motiver et diriger les membres de l'équipe financière en clarifiant les rôles et en fournissant un retour d'information utile

Contribuer à la performance globale du service par l'exécution des objectifs cibles qui lui sont fixés

Procéder à son évaluation de performance

Assister aux formations organisées pour renforcer les compétences

Effectuer toute autre tâche assignée par le Contrôleur financier (C&R).i

Requirements

Educational- Working experience- Skills -Competences/ Etudes-Experience professionnelle- Aptitudes - compétences

English

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or any business-related field.

Minimum of 6 years work experience in managing Accounts Receivables, Account Payables and Fixed Assets activities

Professional certification in Accounting is an added advantage

Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, SYSCOHADA, IFRS and other applicable accounting standards is a key requirement.

Basic knowledge of accounting packages and systems, preferably SAP.

Good organisational skills.

Good data gathering, analysis and problem solving skills

High ethical standards and integrity

Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Bac+3/4 en finance, comptabilité ou tout autre domaine lié aux affaires.Minimum de 6 ans d'expérience professionnelle dans la gestion des comptes clients, des comptes fournisseurs et des immobilisations.

Une certification professionnelle en comptabilité (ACCA) est un avantage supplémentaire.

Bonne connaissance et compréhension des meilleures pratiques financières, des SYSCOHADA, IFRS et des autres normes comptables applicables est une exigence essentielle pour ce poste.

Connaissance de base des progiciels et systèmes comptables, de préférence SAP.

Bonnes compétences organisationnelles.

Bonnes compétences en matière de collecte de données, d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes.

Normes éthiques élevées et intégritéMaîtrise de l'utilisation des outils MS Office.

Bonnes compétences en matière de communication et de relations interpersonnelles.
